BEWG signs a letter of intent for cooperation with Heshan Municipal Government of Guangdong Province 2018-04-13
On April 13, the signing ceremony of the letter of intent for cooperation between the Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited ("BEWG") and the Heshan Municipal People's Government was held at the building of BEWG. Wu Peijin, Secretary of Heshan Municipal Party Committee, Li Jianzhong, Municipal Party Standing Committee Member and Deputy Mayor, Yang Guang Senior Vice President of BEWG and Director of Water Environment Research Institute, Jian Chang, Assistant President, General Manager of Southern Region, and Feng Yanxia, Executive Vice President of Water Environment Institute attended the signing ceremony. Li Jianzhong and Jian Chang signed the “Letter of Intent for Cooperation of the Heshan City Shaping River Comprehensive Improvement Project (Phase II) Project” and the “Letter of Intent for Cooperation of the Heshan Municipal River Chief Smart Control Platform” on behalf of both sides, laying a foundation for advancing the project construction in the next step.
The letter of intent states that through the construction of the Phase II of the Shaping River Comprehensive Improvement Project, the water quality of the Shaping River will be further improved, and the quality of the human settlement environment will be improved to realize the vision of “smooth flow, clear water, solid dike, green shore and scenic beauty” of the Shaping River. In addition, through a series of measures, it helps to achieve the advanced management concepts with demonstration effects such as integration of water supply and drainage, integration of urban and rural areas, integration of factories and networks, integration of water affairs and water environment, promotion of intelligence of water industry chain and normalization of environmental education, forming an intelligent management model with Heshan characteristics.
The two sides also held discussions on the specific direction of cooperation. Yang Guang welcomed the arrival of the leaders of the Heshan Municipal Government and introduced the general situation, development history and business development of BEWG. Wu Peijin affirmed the achievements of Shaping River comprehensive improvement and construction and river chief system. It is hoped that both parties will further strengthen cooperation in the second phase of the Shaping River Comprehensive Improvement Project, water supply construction, sewage treatment, and comprehensive management of urban and rural ecological environmental protection, especially the Shaping River Comprehensive Improvement Project. The two sides will improve the management of the “smart river chief system” and build an integrated urban-rural wisdom-sharing river basin environment system and strive to create a “Heshan model” for water environment treatment.
