Deputy Governor of Bangkok and Delegation from Wastebuy Delivery Company Visit South Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kunming Airport Economic Zone for Study Tour 2025-03-31

On March 25, a 14-member delegation led by Mr. Chakkapan Phewngam, Deputy Governor of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and representatives from Wastebuy Delivery Company visited Kunming Airport BEWG (South Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kunming Airport Economic Zone) for an inspection and study tour. The delegation was accompanied by Yan Fuming, Director of the Classification Management Office of Kunming Urban Management Bureau, the Chairman of Kunming University of Science and Technology Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., and relevant leaders from the Yunnan Dianzhong New Area Urban Drainage and Sewage Treatment Task Force.

Upon arrival, core technical staff of the company provided a comprehensive introduction to the delegation, including the project’s development history, wastewater treatment processes, design indicators for influent and effluent pollutant concentrations, compliance with treated water standards, and achievements in energy conservation and emissions reduction. Subsequently, guided by on-site personnel, the delegation visited the coarse screen and lifting pump station, fine screen and aerated grit chamber, AAO biochemical tank, secondary sedimentation tank, V-type filter, Parshall flume, and sludge dewatering workshop. Throughout the tour, the company’s technical experts elaborated on the working principles and operational status of each treatment unit, fully demonstrating BEWG’s advanced design philosophy and technical expertise in the field of wastewater treatment.

During the on-site inspection, the Thai government and enterprise representatives raised inquiries regarding effective wastewater collection, control of influent concentration indicators, monitoring of effluent concentration standards, and reclaimed water reuse, taking into consideration Thailand’s national conditions. In response, the company’s professionals provided detailed answers based on current laws, regulations, policies, and practical operational experience. The Thai representatives expressed affirmation and recognition of the company’s technical capabilities and production management. They also proposed further enhancing exchanges and cooperation in the environmental protection sector to the accompanying government officials.

As a key enterprise in pollution prevention and control in Yunnan Dianzhong New Area, Kunming Airport BEWG. will take this visit as an opportunity to actively support Kunming City and Dianzhong New Area in fully implementing the initiative to deepen cooperation in environmental protection as outlined in the China-Thailand Joint Statement.
