BEWG - WATERLEAU Joint Venture undertakes Macao Peninsula Sewage Treatment Plant Operation and Maintenance Project 2016-09-28

BEWG-WATERLEAU Joint Venture formed by BEWG and WATERLEAU.NV (an environmental protection enterprise in Belgium) signed the contract draft of Macao Peninsula Sewage Treatment Plant Operation and Maintenance Project with Macao government on September 28, 2016, and both parties will sign the formal contract in later stage.

The main service scope of the project covers the operation and maintenance of the facilities and equipment of the sewage and tail water pumping stations, and the appearance and support structure maintenance of the sludge incinerator and its ancillary equipment during the contract period. The commissioned operation period of the contract is 2 years.

Macau Peninsula Sewage Treatment Plant was put into operation in 1995. It is the first public and largest sewage treatment plant in Macau. The plant is located in Areia Preta District of Macao Peninsula, covering an area of 15,600 square meters. The service covers the most area of Macao Peninsula, the design processing capacity of 144,000 tons / day, and the actual management scale is 180,000 tons / day.

The signing of Macao Peninsula Sewage Treatment Plant Operation and Maintenance Project marks BEWG has successfully entered Macau’s water market.
