BEWG Fuzhou Project appears in CCTV News 2017-12-18
On December 16, 2017, the column of “New Era, New Look and New Accomplishment” of CCTV News broadcast the content of “Fujian: Solving the Old Problems of Ecological Management with New Ideas”, and introduced the black-odor water dredging project participated by Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited (“BEWG”). BEWG helps Fuzhou create a hydrophilic environment with “clear water, green shore, picturesque landscape and harmonious relationship between human and water”.
The “Water System Comprehensive Management Project of Fuzhou Gutai” under the charge of BEWG was shown on CCTV News for the first time. The project is located in the political, economic and cultural center of Fuzhou, covering 30 rivers as well as scenic spots such as the Leftsea and West Lake. The total drainage area is about 60km2 and the total length of the river is about 49km. Among them, Meifeng River, Panyang River, Wenzao River, Sanjie River, Guangming Port branches, Datie Port, Daodao River and Daqinghe River (Taijiang Section), Yingzhou River and Hongxinghe River are key harnessing rivers planned by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. A lot of areas of the old town will be covered in the project, so it is difficult to be reconstructed and will be a challenge for environmental protection in Fuzhou.
Zhu Chenyi, Division Head of Fuzhou Urban and Rural Construction Committee Urban Water Supply and Discharge, said in the interview that “Professional people work in a professional way, and can make harnessing effect (become) longer.” Fuzhou citizens also said happily that “the water here is so clear and smell-less.”
Song Zhiguo, the manager of BEWG’s Fuzhou project (general manager of Fuzhou BEWG Gutai Water Environment Co., Ltd.), said in an interview with CCTV reporter that river regulation cannot be completed in a year, but it is a long-term governance.
The report of the 19th National Congress of CPC pointed out: “The modernization that we pursue is one characterized by harmonious coexistence between man and nature.” To implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, a new green development concept is adopted to solve the environmental problems. BEWG solved the water system problems of Fuzhou urban area with new ideas of green development, implemented the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress with innovative ideas, and provided professional comprehensive solutions to build a new and clean Fujian.
