BEWG launches the concept of “digital twins for wastewater treatment plants” 2018-04-22

On April 22, at the 8th China Water Industry Academicians Forum, Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited ("BEWG") released the independently developed concept version of “digital twins for wastewater treatment plants”. This is the first time that digital twins for wastewater treatment plants released in the form of a complete system, which has aroused the participants' strong interest and repercussions.
Based on the actual water plants, the digital twins for wastewater treatment plants integrate static data, dynamic data and production management data, visualize and predict the status of the water plants in the past, present and future through the mechanism model analysis and big data analysis, and provide decision support for operational management for the purposes of achieving a high degree of security, efficient management, cost optimization and potential tapping of capacity combined with the expert system.
Taking a three-dimensional virtual water plant as a basic presentation form, the concept of the digital twins for wastewater treatment plants released by BEWG is based on enterprise cloud, IoT and big data platforms, uses online simulation and big data analysis technologies to develop big data tools such as water quality virtual instrument and microbiological image recognition to achieve the functions of water quality and water volume prediction, biochemical analysis, material balance, process adjustment simulation, equipment fault diagnosis. It has established a data-driven smart machine-led model, which has provided support for the implementation of high-efficiency operation and management of BEWG.
In the next step, the BEWG Smart Development Team will rely on the pilot water plants to identify the feature dimensions of various types of production data, use machine learning and other methods to correct the big data tools, and further develop and implement practical functions to promote the implementation of digital twins.
