Malaysian Pantai Project of BEWG successfully Accepted, and Terengganu Project officially Signed 2016-06-30

On June 30, 2016, double dosage of good news for BEWG Overseas Division came in: In that morning, all the construction work for Pantai-2 Sewage Treatment Plant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was completed, and the project was successfully accepted by local government; in the afternoon, the Water Works Project in Chukai, Terengganu was officially signed in the state government office. This is a solid stride for the growing overseas business of BEWG to reach its specified goal.

In July of 2011, Malaysian government awarded the Pantai-2 Sewage Treatment Plant Project to BEWG. This sewage treatment plant is the biggest one and the first underground sewage plant in Malaysia. After four-year hard work, BEWG finished the water line commissioning acceptance, realizing the first milestone for the project as scheduled; later on, BEWG made further progress to finish the commissioning of sludge line (sludge digestion and biogas power generation), successfully accomplishing the second milestone as requested. Local government spoke highly of the excellent performance of BEWG, and agreed BEWG to take over the construction work of the ground park which was previously awarded to a local contractor. On June 30, the construction of park was also finished as scheduled. Thus, all the construction tasks for the project were completed. 

By the end of June 30, Pantai-2 Sewage Treatment Plant had smoothly been running for 11 months, with all the technical indicators showing good, to mark the satisfactory success of the project. The timely completion and excellent running have made an important contribution to the local ecological environment.

The excellent performance of Pantai-2 sewage treatment plant has been recognized and commended by Malaysian government and all walks of life, which would pave a good way for BEWG further business development in Malaysia. In November of 2015, Terengganu state government awarded the Chukai Water Works Modification and Expansion Project to BEWG, and this project was officially signed on June 30, 2016. The Terengganu state governor YAB. HAJI AHMAD RAZIF BIN ABD. RAHMAN and BEWG (Malaysia) CEO Wang Jianmin signed the corresponding agreement. Government leaders from Terengganu state Finance Bureau, Economy Development Bureau, and Water Affairs Bureau, BEWG (Malaysia) Deputy CEO DATO AMIRUL, Deputy General Manager Deng Wancheng, and BEWG Overseas Division Deputy General Manager Luo Xuegeng, attended the signing ceremony.

The scope of work Chukai Water Works Modification and Expansion Project includes the modification of the existing water works of 220, 000 tons/day, new construction of water intake head, addition of several elevated tanks and water supply piping network, etc. BT mode is adopted for this project, with 3-year construction period (The project will be completed in November of 2018), 6-year payment terms, and a total contract value of RMB1.1 billion.

The Chukai Water Works Modification and Expansion Project will greatly improve the water supply condition in Chukai, and provide a driving force for the state's economic development. After a hardworking 5-year, BEWG is more confident in accomplishing this project with high quality in the specified time, and further developing the Malaysian market, as well as the Southeast Asian market.
