The 2nd conference & 2nd summit forum of China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance, 49 new members! 2019-09-20

From 19 Sep to 20 Sep 2019, sponsored by China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance and hosted by BEWG and Harbin Institute of Technology School of Environment, the "2nd Conference of China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance & 2nd Industry-Education Integration Summit Forum" was convened in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province.

Mr. REN Nanqi, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Dean of the School of Environment of Harbin Institute of Technology; Mr. YI Bin, Vice President and Secretary-General of China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, Vice President of China Urban Water Association, Vice President of Water Environment and Water Ecology Branch of China Urban Science Research Association; Mr. LI Li, Executive President of BEWG; Mr. WANG Lili, Deputy Director of Personnel Department of Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment; Mr. MA Defu, Expert of Steering Committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, Ministry of Education; Mr. YU Liguo, Chairman of China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance, Senior Vice President of BEWG, Dean of BEWG College; Mr. ZHANG Jianmin, Chairman of the China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance, President of Hebei University of Environmental Engineering, winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund; Ms. FENG Yujie, Executive Vice Dean of the Harbin Institute of Technology School of Environment; Mr. LI Dinggao, Assistant President of BEWG, GM of North Region, among other senior leaders and guests, as well as more than 200 representatives from 57 domestic environmental protection research institutes and 65 environmental protection companies attended the conference and forum.

On the eve of this conference, the ninth meeting of the Central Comprehensive Deepening Reform Committee reviewed and approved the "National Pilot Implementation Plan for the Construction of Industry-Education Integration", pointing out that deepening the industry-education integration is a strategic strategy for promoting education priority development, talent-led development, and industrial innovation development. In this context, with the theme of "protecting the source of life and creating a green environment", China Eco-Environmental Industry- Education Alliance invites industry experts and business representatives to discuss the industry-education integration and provide strong support for the convergence of new development momentum.

0n 18 Sep 2019, the preparatory meeting of China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance was held and chaired by Mr. JI Guangpeng, Secretary-General of the Alliance. After voting by executive members, the Alliance co-opted Prof. REN Yongxiang, Dean of the School of Environment and Municipal Engineering of Xi'an University of Architecture & Technology, and Prof. BI Xuejun, Dean of the School of Environmental and Municipal Engineering of Qingdao University of Technology, as Vice Chairmen of the Alliance. The meeting also made arrangements for the establishment of the Human Resources Sub-committee, the holding of the 2nd "Internet +" ecological environment innovation and entrepreneurship competition, and the Alliance's First Vocational Skills Competition.

On the morning of 19 Sep 2019, the opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Ms. FENG Yujie, Executive Deputy Dean of the School of Environment of Harbin Institute of Technology. Mr. REN Nanqi, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Dean of the School of Environment of Harbin Institute of Technology, delivered an opening speech. He said that the establishment of China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance is an important measure to promote school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education integration, and is conducive to full integration of talent training supply-side and industrial demand-side structural elements, to cultivate a group of high-quality talents suitable for the future development of China's environmental protection industry. It is believed that under the leadership of the executive members of the Alliance and the joint efforts of entire members, the Alliance can better realize the functions of talent raising (training) and supply services, faculty training, research and consultation, resources and services sharing.

Mr. YU Liguo, Chairman of China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance, made a report on the "Industry-Education Alliance Work Report and Action Plan", summarizing the alliance work of the year 2018-2019: the First China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance Inaugural Conference and Summit Forum, Alliance executive members development profile, the construction of official website, the deep integration of schools and enterprises, the establishment of the industrial academy, the "Smart Water" discipline building /faculty training camp, and the first "Internet +" ecological environment innovation and entrepreneurship competition. At the same time, the report made definite plans for Alliance work of the year 2019-2020: to apply for the "1+X" certificate, hold a special job fair for college students, hold the first college student vocational skills competition, the second "Internet +" ecological environment innovation and entrepreneurship competition, and establish a human resources sub-committee, expand alliance international cooperation, etc. This series of measures is not only to explore a new path for the industry-education integration in the environmental protection industry, but also provide a useful reference for environmental companies and universities. He said that 122 members of the Alliance gathered at Harbin Institute of Technology to discuss environmental talent training and industry-academia-research cooperation, hoping to help upgrade the education engine and contribute to the development of the environmental protection industry.

At the meeting, witnessed by all the guests, the Alliance’s website (http://www.ceeiea.com/) was officially launched. The website is dedicated to serving hundreds of universities and hundreds of well-known environmental enterprises. Through real-time reporting of the latest information on this Alliance, universities, industries, and enterprises, it will provide information on the supply and demand of talents between schools and enterprises, bridge the enterprise technology needs with the scientific research results of universities, and build a network communication platform integrating ecological industry and education.

Subsequently, Mr. YU Liguo and Mr. ZHANG Jianmin, chairmen of the Alliance, awarded plates to the new executive members.

The 2nd Industry-Education Integration Summit Forum was hosted by Prof. NAN Jun, Vice Chairman of the Alliance and Vice Dean of the School of Environment of Harbin Institute of Technology. Mr. YI Bin, Vice President and Secretary-General of China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, issued a special report "Development Trends of Environmental Industry and Prospects for Talent Demand". Based on the current development of the environmental industry, Mr. YI Bin pointed out that collaborative innovation is the development trend of environmental technology, and the training of environmental talents should also focus on the collaborative innovation mechanism of industry, research, academia and application, and focus on innovation to strengthen the environmental industry.

At the Summit Forum, experts and representatives of school-enterprise jointly looked forward to the future of talents building, and offered advice and suggestions for building a new ecology of industry-education integration, and achieving a shared win-win situation. Prof. GENG Shigang, Vice Chairman of the Alliance and Vice President of Hebei University of Environmental Engineering, gave a theme report on "Construction of Applied Undergraduate Universities and Cultivation of Applied Talents", and expressed his thoughts on environmental applied undergraduate education, and based on the university’s practice, he proposed the road of integrating industry and education to run a school, establish a professional group that connects the talent chain and the industrial chain, build a high-quality application-oriented talent training system, and build a university system with distinctive ecological environment characteristics to build four bases, integrating politics, industry, academia, research and application.

Prof. FENG Yujie, Executive Deputy Dean of the School of Environment of Harbin Institute of Technology, shared the theme of "Thoughts on the Training of Environmental Major Students and the Construction of New Majors". Based on the historical evolution of discipline building and development, combined with the orientation of major national needs, she pointed out the development trend in the field of ecological and environmental protection and the demand for talents. We should establish a system engineering concept, solve ecological shortcomings, and focus on major national needs and international development hotspots, and by virtue of professional advantages and characteristic directions, cultivate top-notch innovative talents that can lead future development.

Mr. LI Li, CEO of BEWG, gave a theme report entitled "Environmental Industry Enterprises Development and Talents Training" at the meeting. He analyzed and pointed out the relevance of corporate development and talents, through the three-line logic model, the four-core drive model, the four-image strategic model and the three-three framework model. Mr. LI mentioned that the talent development of comprehensive enterprises in the environmental industry is featured by diversity, complexity, cross-border and organization, and based on the concept map of the “system technical elements” of the comprehensive management of BEWG water system, he pointed out that it must be integrated 8 major disciplines, support 7 types of projects, and solve 9 major water problems, so as to achieve a high professional integration, systematic top-level design, stable performance compliance and intensive investment benefits.

Mr. WANG Guanping, Vice President of China Everbright Water Limited, delivered a keynote report on "School-enterprise cooperation to cultivate new talents, industry-education integration to promote technological innovation". He said that the water industry is facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities, while the traditional environmental industry is transforming and upgrading, which will bring revolutionary changes to the industry.

On the afternoon of the 19 Sep 2019, at the special forum on the industry-education integration, Mr. MA Defu, Expert of Steering Committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, Ministry of Education, gave a keynote speech on the topic: "Innovation and Development Mode of Industry-Education Integration". Starting from the formulation of corporate innovation and talent strategy, the funding for the application of scientific research outcomes, the organizational mechanism standards for the industry-education integration, the building of the industry-education integration platform and talents, he proposed the project of creating a strategy, a fund, a standard, a center, a college, an alliance, and a competition, a platform and a team, to expand new ideas for industry-education integration.

In order to build a dialogue platform between environmental companies and schools, and enhance the communication between the two parties in terms of demand and supply, the forum opened a dialogue topic on the industry-education integration. Eight senior managers, deans and experts from major environmental companies and universities made fruitful interactions and discussions on how to deeply implement industry-education integration, how to innovate industry-education integration mechanism, talent training, and the application of scientific research outcomes, and proposed constructive opinions on promoting the development of industry-education integration.

As the central government's tightening the environmental protection efforts, and the demand for environmental protection becomes more urgent, environmental talents will inevitably become an important foundation for environmental companies to win the market. In recent years, many leading environmental companies have increased their investment in talent training at varying degrees. The central government is also politically encouraging companies to actively participate in the joint training of talents.

On the morning of 20 Sep 2019, the "Beautiful China" job fair for college students of the Alliance (at Harbin Institute of Technology) was held on the second campus of Harbin Institute of Technology. At the job fair, more than 30 environmental agencies, including municipal bodies, architectural design institutes, and environmental companies, offered jobs to environmental protection talents.

The 2nd Conference & 2nd Summit Forum of China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance have pointed out a new direction for environmental companies and universities to solidly promote the industry-education integration. In the future, the Alliance will deepen exchanges and cooperation, mechanism innovation, talents and faculty training, constantly explore and practice new ideas for work, and provide a solid guarantee for the all-round docking between talents training supply and industry demand, in order to realize the integrated development of industry, academia, research, application and innovation, and deepen the higher education reform.
