Sichuan Observation | "Guard One Kilometer of River Course" Environmental Publicity Activity Visits BEWG Longquan Branch 2025-10-27

In active response to the national call for ecological civilization construction and to fulfill corporate social responsibility, the "Let's Act for Good – Guard One Kilometer of River Course" (Chengdu Station) environmental publicity activity was successfully held at the No.2 Dougouhe Sewage Treatment Plant on October 23. Sponsored by the All-China Environment Federation and co-organized by Chengdu Longquan BEWG Water Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Longquan BEWG"), a subsidiary of Beijing Enterprises Water Group (BEWG), the event invited a delegation of 80 participants, including student volunteers from Qingtaishan Primary School Affiliated to Sichuan Normal University and environmental protection practitioners. Through on-site visits and interactive experiences at the sewage treatment plant, the activity aimed to enhance public awareness of water resource protection and promote a sound social atmosphere of saving, cherishing, and protecting water.
 
Leaders and guests attending the event included Wang Jiajia, Director of the Environmental Public Welfare Department of the All-China Environment Federation; Jiang Zuoping, Environmental Education Expert of the Southwest Office; Tang Jia, Deputy Secretary-General; Che Wanguo, Secretary of the General Party Branch of Qingtaishan Primary School and Political Teaching Researcher of the District Academy of Educational Science; and Gou Wenwen, Vice President of Sichuan Tianfu Institute of Environmental Damage Judicial Authentication.
 
In the "River Purification and Embankment Protection Public Welfare Hike" and "River Patrol Officer Environmental Science Experiment" sessions, the delegation carried out practical projects such as river cleaning, water quality testing, and ecological water filtration system construction in groups under the guidance of professionals. After completing the experiences, they were awarded "Little River Patrol Officer" certificates, which aroused young people's strong interest in environmental science.
 
Subsequently, as a key part of the activity, Longquan BEWG carefully organized an immersive "Water Purification Exploration Journey" for the delegation. In the environmental science popularization exhibition hall, staff vividly explained the entire sewage treatment process and its significant importance to urban ecology and river health through process models, graphic display boards, and multimedia interactive systems, helping the delegation establish a systematic knowledge framework for water environmental protection. In the intelligent central control room, the delegation observed real-time operation parameters, process flows, and monitoring screens of key links of the entire plant through large screens, intuitively understanding the precise scheduling and efficient management capabilities of the digital system in the sewage treatment process, and deeply feeling the scientific and technological power contained in modern environmental protection facilities.
 
The most impressive part was the on-site visit to the underground factory area. Different from traditional sewage treatment plants, Longquan BEWG has set up its main treatment units underground, realizing the organic combination of intensive land use and above-ground landscape construction. The delegation visited core process sections such as "pretreatment + multi-stage AO process + denitrification filter + high-density sand-loaded sedimentation tank" in sequence along the corridor, witnessing the entire process of domestic sewage turning from turbid to clear with their own eyes, and deeply experiencing the magical charm of water resource recycling empowered by technology.
