Tianjin Beichen Dashuang Wastewater Treatment Plant Successfully Hosts Beichen District Confined Space Emergency Drill 2026-05-06

On April 30, 2026, Tianjin Beichen Dashuang Wastewater Treatment Plant organized and conducted a confined space operation emergency drill, aimed at effectively improving employees' safety awareness and emergency response capabilities, laying a solid foundation for building a safe and stable production environment. The activity invited Zhao Lu, Deputy Director of Tianjin Beichen District Water Affairs Bureau, and relevant leaders from the District Water Affairs Comprehensive Service Center, as well as 45 personnel from related units including Xinqu Wastewater Treatment Plant, Shuangqing Wastewater Treatment Plant, Science and Technology Park Wastewater Treatment Plant, Science and Technology Park Upgraded Wastewater Treatment Plant, and Rural Domestic Wastewater Treatment Stations for on-site observation. Li Hao, General Manager of Beichen Dashuang Wastewater Treatment Plant, served as the overall commander of the emergency drill.
At the beginning of the drill, Li Hao delivered a mobilization speech, requiring all participating personnel to be serious, operate in compliance with standards, and engage in the drill with a combat-ready attitude to effectively improve confined space operation risk prevention and emergency rescue capabilities. This confined space operation emergency drill simulated a scenario where equipment operating personnel suffered from hydrogen sulfide poisoning during normal operations in a valve well, triggering an emergency rescue response. After the "accident" occurred, drill participants immediately activated the confined space operation emergency plan. The cordon team, rescue team, communications team, and investigation team each performed their duties, with the rescue operation proceeding in an orderly manner with standardized actions and seamless coordination. The drill successfully completed all procedures, with the injured person transferred to a safe area for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and after regaining consciousness, sent to the hospital for observation.
Zhao Lu expressed high recognition of the successful organization of this activity and gave full affirmation to the professionalism and standardization of the emergency drill at Beichen Dashuang Wastewater Plant. He pointed out that confined space operations are a top priority in safety management of the water industry. This drill was well-organized, procedurally standardized, and rapidly responsive, fully demonstrating the enterprise's solid emergency response capabilities and safety responsibility awareness. He required all relevant units to use this drill as a benchmark, actively review and learn from it, earnestly identify their own shortcomings in confined space operation management, further improve emergency plans, strengthen daily training and combat drills, effectively elevate the industry's confined space operation risk prevention level, and firmly safeguard the bottom line of safety production.
