Zhang Wentong, Vice Mayor of Wuhan City, and his delegation visited BEWG for exchange and investigation 2019-07-22
Recently, Zhang Wentong, Deputy Mayor of Wuhan Municipal People’s Government, personally led Wuhan Water Affairs Bureau, the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, and Wuhan Bishui Group Co., Ltd. to come to BEWG for investigation. Xu Bo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Enterprises Group Company Limited, Zhang Yong, Assistant to the General Manager of the Group, Zhou Min, President of BEWG, and Mao Jianhua, Director of the Group, as well as relevant leaders of Beijing General Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Beijing Gas and Heating Engineering Design Institute attended the exchange activities.
Xu Bo, on behalf of Beijing Enterprises Group Company Limited, extended a warm welcome to Zhang Wentong and his delegation. He said that Beijing Enterprises Group Company Limited attaches great importance to cooperation with related fields in Wuhan. Currently, BEWG, Beijing Enterprises Holdings Environment Technology Co., Ltd., and Beijing General Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. subordinated to the Group, have business layouts in Wuhan City. Beijing Enterprises Group Company Limited hopes to further expand the cooperation fields and strengthen cooperation with Wuhan City.
Zhou Min, on behalf of BEWG, introduced the development history, business layout and strategic development of the Group, and said that BEWG has always attached great importance to the Wuhan market and has invested certain resources in Wuhan. In the next step, BEWG will continue to do its work and work with the China Three Gorges Corporation to promote water control in Wuhan.
Mao Jianhua introduced the specific work of BEWG’s participation in the water affairs and water environment management of Wuhan, and proposed new ideas and new plans for water control in Wuhan. Subsequently, Beijing General Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Beijing Gas and Heating Engineering Design Institute respectively introduced the status quo of their enterprises and related cases carried out in Wuhan.
Zhang Wentong said that this visit is both an investigation and an invitation, and he hopes that Beijing Enterprises Group Company Limited will organize a team to enter Wuhan to do related work as soon as possible, so as to get involved in the urban planning, comprehensive water management, etc. of Wuhan City in a more direct, comprehensive and in-depth manner, thereby giving full play to the advantages of “capital + technology + data” of BEWG.
The Wuhan Water Affairs Bureau stated that Wuhan City is currently facing great pressure in solving systemic such environmental problems as sewage treatment, river improvement, etc. It urgently needs the support of advanced domestic experience in the transformation of water control concepts and the reserve of water control technologies. BEWG’s technical reserves, technical maturity and case reproducibility are among the best in the industry, and Wuhan City welcomes BEWG’s in-depth participation in the water control work of Wuhan to jointly build the “Wuhan Mode”.
At the meeting, the two parties agreed that in the next step, they will arrange specially-assigned persons and set up a special working team to fully coordinate the cooperation work.
Zhang Wentong and his delegation also inspected the site of the Majuqiao Gate Project of the comprehensive treatment of Liangshui River of BEWG, with focus on the effect of water quality improvement and project investment and construction management mechanism. He highly recognized the effect and operation of the project, and said that there are many ideas and experience worth learning.
It is understood that the Liangshui River system has a total length of 68.41km and flows through Haidian, Xicheng, Fengtai, Daxing, Chaoyang, Beijing Yizhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone and Tongzhou District. It serves a population of 4.5 million, and is the main drainage river in the southern district of Beijing, playing an important role in flood control, drainage, ecology, leisure, etc.
In August 2014, BEWG and Beijing Water Authority signed the “Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on the Investment, Construction, and Maintenance Reform Pilot of Comprehensive Treatment of Beijing Liangshui River” to started professional management of the Liangshui River.
The Liangshui River Water Environment Comprehensive Treatment Project of BEWG aims to transform the single flood prevention and drainage function of Liangshui River to the integrated functions of flood control, landscape and ecology. It is designed to achieve clear water quality and solve the problem of dirty and smelly rivers through scientific desilting and dredging, deodorization of buried culverts, reconstruction and expansion of gates and dams, and arrangement of dikes and top roads, combined with source control and pollution interception outside the blue line, meanwhile, it aims to build a landscape enhancement project with ecological and natural methods to create a shared space of “people, water, and green”.
