Talk about the new journey of the Industrial College! A fruitful education and teaching work conference of BEWG 2021-05-22
In order to cultivate high-quality applied, inter-disciplinary and innovative talents who can adapt to and lead the development of modern industries, to strengthen moral education, to focus on student development, to break through traditional path dependence, to give full play to industrial advantages, and give full play to the role of enterprises as the main body of education, deepen the integration of industry and education, and encourage universities to explore the construction model of industrial colleges. On May 22-23, on the occasion of the vocational education week, the 5th Education and Teaching Work Conference of BEWG and 2nd Industrial College Dean’s Forum was held in Guangzhou. With the theme of "New Era, New Journey, New Mission", the conference invited representatives of environmental protection universities, industry experts, and business representatives to talk about the new journey of industrial colleges.
On the morning of May 22, the 5th Education and Teaching Work Conference of BEWG opened. Sun Shuiyu, Dean of Guangdong Environmental Protection Engineering Vocational College, and Jian Chang, Vice President of BEWG and General Manager of Southern Region, delivered opening speeches. They stated that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the Ministry of Education will promote high-quality development as the basic theme, and the in-depth development of industry-education integration is one of the important factors that promote the vigorous development of higher education. As the flagship enterprise of the industry, BEWG is not only in the forefront of the industry, but also has laid a solid foundation in the cultivation of versatile talents. In the future, we will try our best to cultivate more "versatile" and "artisan-oriented" talents for the environmental protection industry.
Yu Liguo, senior vice president of BEWG, officially released the "Three-Year Development Plan for BEWG's Industry-Education Integration and School-Enterprise Cooperation (2021-2023)", introduced key business sectors such as education and training, school-enterprise cooperation, vocational certification, asset-light innovation service, and science and technology venture capital, and proposed ten key tasks and planning goals, including the construction of modern industrial college, the construction of think tank, the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and the construction of large-scale public practical training platform. He said that BEWG will vigorously practice the integration of industry and education, and school-enterprise cooperation, in order to promote the integration of the education chain, the talent chain, the industrial chain, and the innovation chain in an all-round way, and contribute to the high-quality development of the environmental protection industry.
At the meeting, the 1+X certificate expert committee was formally established. Yu Liguo and Sun Shuiyu inaugurated the expert committee, and issued letters of appointment to the directors and first members of the two expert committees of "Smart Water Plant Operation and Regulation" and "Water Environment Monitoring and Governance".
The conference issued letters of appointment to 8 professor-level lecturers and 2 representatives of certified lecturers including Huang Wenlong, director of the Policy Research Office of BEWG, and issued appointment letters to 20 members of the second batch of professional education and teaching steering committees. The expert committees and lecturer teams will continue to play the role of think tanks to promote the high-quality and high-level connotative development of subject professional education and teaching.
The conference also awarded honor certificates to the excellent organization units of the second micro-class contest, the best achievement contribution award of the professional education and teaching steering committee, and the outstanding class teacher of the industrial colleges.
On the afternoon of May 22, the 2nd Industrial College Dean’s Forum was held. In the form of theme sharing, the forum invited 7 representatives of industrial colleges to give keynote speeches, to jointly exchange experience in the construction of industrial colleges, and to explore new paths for future development.
In the roundtable dialogue event hosted by the Dean of the Industrial College, 6 school-enterprise experts conducted in-depth and instructive discussions on the theme of "Exploring the Synergetic Mechanism for Cultivating Innovative Talents Based on the Industrial College Platform", and discussed with the audience on how to build a benign integration model of industry and education, how the industrial colleges should conduct interactive exchanges on topics such as the construction of disciplines and professional groups. Yu Liguo said that the construction of industrial colleges should take "education + industry" as the overall goal, and schools and enterprises should draw on their respective strengths, jointly build, co-manage and share, and form a new model of school-enterprise cooperation featuring complementary advantages and common development.
On May 23, the second working meeting of the 3 professional education and teaching steering committees of smart water, solid waste comprehensive treatment and disposal, and ecological environment innovation and entrepreneurship, and the first working meeting of the 1+X certificate expert committee were held respectively to summarize the work in 2020, and jointly negotiate and deploy the annual working plan and key tasks in 2021.
The reform of deepening the integration of production and education is entering the "deep water period". BEWG will continue to vigorously promote the reform of education and teaching mode, continue to expand university resources, build a resource sharing platform for integration of industry and education, constantly improve the long-term cooperative mechanism for innovation and development of school-enterprise cooperation, fully meet the needs of regional industrial development, and deepen the integration of industry and education to as to build a modern industrial college that with the demonstration effect of cultivating people with remarkable results, distinctive regional industrial characteristics, and in-depth cooperation among industries, universities and research institutes, create a large number of high-quality applied, versatile, and innovative talents needed by industries, improve industrial competitiveness and gather new drivers of development to provide talent support and intellectual support.
