New model of school-enterprise integration, upgrading of “dual innovation” -- First “Internet +” Water Environment Innovation & Entrepreneurship Final Competition in Beijing 2018-12-03

Mr. MA Defu, Vice Chairman of the National University Innovation and Venture Capital Service Alliance, said in his final speech that this competition has achieved new breakthroughs in scale, innovation and characteristics. The competition is the starting point for promoting the reform and upgrading of innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities. It is also a carrier to promote the close integration of industry, academia, research and application. It fully affirms the leadership and responsibility of BEWG, a leading enterprise in China's environmental protection industry, and hopes that universities and the society will actively participate and work together to deepen the industry-education integration, form a benign interaction between schools and enterprises, and truly create an upgraded version of "dual innovation".
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, ZHOU Min, President of BEWG introduced the ecological strategy and dual-platform strategy of BEWG in the final speech. It was pointed out that the first "Internet +" Water Environment Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held to explore innovative and entrepreneurial technologies and outstanding talents in the water environment industry, promote the organic connection between the education chain, the talents chain, the industrial chain, and the innovation chain, and promote the concept of environmental protection to the whole society, promote environmental protection education, enhance environmental awareness, showcase the innovation and entrepreneurial achievements of the water environment industry, and promote the ecological development of the water environment industry. He emphasized that 2018 is the 10th anniversary of the establishment of BEWG, and promotes 3 major innovation plans- to establish China Eco-Environmental Industry-Education Alliance, to hold the first Environmental Education Summit Forum and the first "Internet +" Water Environmental Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, create a three-dimensional talent value chain of “industry, academia, research, application, and innovation”, promote the deepening of higher education reforms, give play to the important role of enterprises, cultivate a large number of high-quality innovative talents and technological and technical talents, enhance the core competitiveness of the industry, and provide strong support for gathering new momentum for development.
The competition is divided into a three-level competition system of online preliminary competitions, online semi-finals and on-site finals, and 12 water environment experts will guide the teams as tutors to carry out a one-week online training camp. The finals will be conducted in the form of "live roadshow + interactive Q&A + popular voting".
The general review panel is composed of experts in the fields of operation, technology, strategic investment, etc., including Ms. HANG Shijun, the Chief Consultant Engineer of BEWG, Prof. WANG Kaijun from the School of Environment of Tsinghua University, and Prof. WANG Hongchen from the School of Environment of Renmin University of China.
In the "Water Environment Industry-Education Integration Seminar" of this competition, XUE Tao, Executive Partner of E20 Platform, Vice President of E20 Joint Research Institute of Peking University School of Environment, National Development and Reform Commission and PPP Shuangku Targeted Expert of the Ministry of Finance; HUANG Wenlong, GM of the Strategic Development Center of BEWG; and MA Defu, Vice Chairman of the National University Innovation and Venture Capital Service Alliance, attended the meeting. Three industry experts brought a feast of knowledge from the perspectives of the development trend of the environmental industry, future ecological investment hotspots, and the innovative development model of industry-education integration.
After fierce competition, the project team of "a remote intelligent terminal equipment to increase the drinking water quality for group users" from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology won the gold prize; the project team of "THWater Smart Drainage Monitoring and Diagnosis Solution" from Beijing Qinghuan Smart Water Technology Co., Ltd. and the project team of "Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Energy-saving IOT Submersible Motor" from Zhongchuang High-tech Energy-saving Motor Technology Co., Ltd. won the silver award. The project team of "Laiche Technology-China's Water Quality Improvement Guide" from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and the project team of “Nothing is unclean: the domestic leading expert in the treatment of high-salt organic wastewater" from Changzhou University won the bronze prizes, and jointly won the entrepreneurship bonus of RMB 100,000. At the awarings ceremony, the leaders presented award certificates for the "Most Scientific and Technological Achievement Transformation Value Award", "Best Creative Award", "Most Industry-Education Integration Value Award", "Most Popularity Award", and "Best Organization Award" . At the scene, the “Investment Letter of Intent” was signed with 6 projects including the "Laiche Technology-China's Water Quality Improvement Guide" from China University of Geosciences (Beijing)
Mr. YU Liguo, Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee, delivered the closing speech on behalf of the Organizing Committee. He emphasized that BEWG will continue to upgrade the "three innovative plans" and will use the competition as a platform to continuously explore a new model of school-enterprise integration, promote the organic integration of industrial resources, human resources, and scientific research resources, help college talents and innovative company training, scientific research, service society, cultural inheritance function transformation, while supporting industrial transformation and upgrading and water ecological development.
