Delegation of Macao Association of Environmental Protection Industry Pays a Visit to BEWG 2021-05-24

On May 21, a delegation of more than 20 people from the Macao Association of Environmental Protection Industry (hereinafter referred to as the MAEPI) Beijing inspection and exchange group led by Mak Soi Kun, member of the Legislative Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region and Chairman of the MAEPI, paid a visit to the headquarters of BEWG, and held discussions with Zhou Min, President of BEWG, and Luo Xuegeng, Assistant to the President and General Manager of Overseas Business Department. 
 
In the morning of the same day, Mr. Mak Soi Kun and his party first went to the PPP project of the Xinfeng River Basin Comprehensive Treatment Project of BEWG in Daxing District, Beijing (hereinafter referred to as the Xinfeng River Project) to visit and inspect the Xinfeng River Binhe Park and the Annan Wetland Environmental Protection Theme Park as well as the project information center. The delegation listened in detail to the project’s introduction of construction waste recycling, ecological restoration, water resource reuse, sediment improvement, energy-saving lighting, etc., and observed with great interest the environmental protection and water-saving activities carried out by the primary school students in the information center of the project. The delegation fully affirmed the construction concept, craftsmanship, and delivery and operation effects of the Xinfeng River project, and also greatly appreciated the practice of carrying out environmental awareness education through environmental protection projects.
 
In the afternoon, after visiting the exhibition hall of the group, the two sides had a friendly discussion. Zhou Min extended a warm welcome to the arrival of Mr. Mak Soi Kun and his entourage, introduced the development of BEWG to the delegation. She also expressed BEWG's good wishes to extensively connect with Macao and participate in project construction, boost Macao's development, and deeply integrate into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
 
Mr. Mak Soi Kun spoke highly of the development achievements of BEWG. He said that the advanced technology and practices of BEWG are worthy of reference by Macau counterparts. He hopes that the two sides will further strengthen cooperation and exchanges. At the same time, he welcomes the participation of BEWG Macau branch to join the MAEPI.
 
At the meeting, the delegation also had in-depth exchanges with experts from BEWG on professional issues such as sewage treatment technology, sludge treatment, photovoltaic power generation, seawater desalination, rainfall flood control, and sewage pipe network operation and maintenance.
