Successful Host of the 6th "Evergreen Cup" Staff Skills Competition of Beijing Enterprises Water Group 2025-10-30

The 6th "Evergreen Cup" Staff Skills Competition of Beijing Enterprises Water Group (BEWG) was held in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province from October 26 to 28. Co-sponsored by the Trade Union, Operation Service Center, and Human Resources Center of BEWG, the competition was undertaken by the Northern Region and co-organized by Qinhuangdao Regional Company.

Rooted in the group's talent needs for deepening intensive reform, the competition adhered to the philosophy of "promoting learning through competition, identifying talents through competition, and driving improvement through competition." Its core objectives were to empower regional employees with comprehensive capabilities, enhance automatic control operation and maintenance efficiency, strengthen laboratory testing and operational regulation capabilities, and advance the construction of a high-skilled talent development system.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Chen Liting emphasized that BEWG not only ensures the safe and compliant operation of urban sewage treatment through professional services but also cultivates a large number of technically proficient, operationally skilled, and innovative talents for the industry via events like the "Evergreen Cup." Focusing on two core areas—quality control and automatic control operation and maintenance—this year's competition aligns with the water industry's development trend of "refined management and intelligent operation and maintenance" and Qinhuangdao's goal of "improving the modernization level of urban governance." He expressed hope that BEWG will contribute more to Qinhuangdao's ecological civilization construction and high-quality development.

Chen Gang noted that the "Evergreen Cup" closely follows the "Five Comparisons" competition framework of Beijing Enterprises Holdings Limited—"comparing quality, safety, innovation, empowerment, and efficiency." Through a full-chain mechanism of "training improvement + competition + incentives," the event supports the growth of skilled craftsmen and achieves the goal of "cultivating talents through competition and strengthening enterprises with skills." He encouraged participants to showcase their expertise with precision, empower development with innovation, and pursue progress through collaboration, striving to hone their skills, gain growth, and inject more craftsmanship into BEWG.

Wang Qingkai, person in charge of the Northern Region, emphasized that BEWG has always regarded improving employees' professional capabilities as a key measure to enhance core competitiveness. The group extensively carries out various forms of skills competitions and on-the-job training activities, actively guiding and encouraging employees to delve into technology, refine professional skills, and improve their overall quality. Taking the "Evergreen Cup" as an opportunity, the Northern Region will increase training investment, innovate training models, and cultivate more professional talents for the group's intensive and specialized reform.

At the flag-handing ceremony, Wang Zhupin solemnly presented the battle flags—symbolizing mission and honor—to the team leaders of each region and the Water Supply Business Department. With flags waving and morale high, the competition officially kicked off.

After fierce competition, participants from 14 regions strived for excellence and fully demonstrated their superb skills. Wang Wenxiao, person in charge of the Operation Service Center, announced the list of winners: the Hangzhou-Huzhou Region of the Eastern Region won the championship in the quality control competition, and the Qingdao Region claimed the title in the automatic control competition. In conjunction with the 2025 skill evaluation work, the "Craftsman Cradle Award" was awarded, with the Eastern Region winning the Gold Award and the Southern Region the Silver Award. Participants who entered the finals and achieved a total score of over 80 points will receive an incentive for skill level promotion.

Wang Jianli stated that this year's "Evergreen Cup" aligns with the national policy of strengthening enterprises through skills and BEWG's asset-light transformation strategy, aiming to discover and cultivate skilled talents. Centered on regional intensification, the competition not only assesses overall skills and identifies top talents but also closely integrates with key operational priorities. He hoped that the winning participants will play an exemplary role in fostering more skilled craftsmen for the group, and the organizing units will innovate the competition system to ensure that the spirit of craftsmanship takes root and inherits within the enterprise.

Talent is the key driver of the group's intensive transformation, the implementation of the "cloud-chain-terminal" model, and the development of new quality productive forces. Through the "Evergreen Cup" Staff Skills Competition, BEWG has built a platform for frontline employees to exchange skills under the concept of "promoting learning through competition," creating an atmosphere that values skills. By "enhancing skills through competition," the group strengthens skill training and builds a technical talent echelon, injecting new vitality into BEWG's high-quality development and the skill upgrading of the water industry.
